LOGAN - Philadelphia Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman inside a house in Logan.Officials said police responded to the 4600 block of North Broad Street Saturday in the late afternoon, just after 4:30, on the report of a shooting.When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back and one to the head. NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Police in Norristown are investigating a fatal double shooting of two, armed 17-year-old males, after an attempted robbery.According to officials, police responded to an alley behind the 300 block of Warren Street Friday, about 8 p.m. for a shooting.When police arrived, they found two males, dead from gunshot wounds and the shooter on scene.As part of the investigation revealed, according to Norristown Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, the two males were both 17-years-old.

MADISON, Wis. - First responders were called to the scene of a porch collapse at a home on West Mifflin Street in Madison late Saturday morning.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man has died after being involved in a head-on crash in the city's Castor neighborhood on Friday night. According to police, the incident happened at the intersection of Algon Avenue and Knorr Street at 10:35 p.m. Authorities say Luis Velez, 52, was driving a 2008 Honda Accord northbound on Algon Avenue behind a 2022 Ford Econoline. Police also say a 2014 Kia Sorrento was going southbound on Algon Avenue. Velez went around the Ford Econline, crossing oncoming traffic and onto the yellow painted lines on the left side, according to authorities. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPolice say while doing so, the Honda Accord struck the Kia Sorrento head-on and sideswiped the Ford Econline. Medics arrived on scene and transported Velez to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. AdvertisementPolice say the crash remains active and ongoing. 

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating a crash involving a car and pedestrian early Saturday morning in Center City. According to police, a silver 2017 Mercedes was traveling southbound on Broad Street at a high rate of speed and the driver disregarded several red traffic lights. Authorities say a 32-year-old man was in the crosswalk of Broad and Locust Streets when he was struck by the car. The car continued to Broad and Pine Streets where it stopped to wait for police, investigators say. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAccording to police, the car was severely damaged. The victim was taken to a local hospital with severe head trauma and was listed in critical condition, authorities say. AdvertisementPolice did not say why the car's operator, a 23-year-old woman, drove through the red lights, but authorities say charges are pending. 

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating several shootings that left at least five people injured Friday night and Saturday. The city is no stranger to upticks in violence on weekends compared to weekdays with recent weekends seeing several violent and fatal shootings. At least 20 people were shot and four killed in separate shootings across Philadelphia over the Easter weekend.  Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw responded to the incidents by tweeting, "The violence and trauma of these incidents extend beyond those directly affected and permeate into the very fabric of our communities." The first of the weekend shootings took place on Friday night when a teenager was shot in an alley by two men in Olney, authorities say. Officers responded to the area on Friday night around 10:58 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that left a 17-year-old injured in Olney on Friday, according to authorities. Police say officers responded to Westford Road and Clarkson Avenue for a report of a shooting but they were unable to locate a victim or scene. According to officials, a shooting victim arrived at a nearby hospital shortly after and investigators learned a 17-year-old was walking in an alley near his home when two unknown men approached him. Police say the suspects began firing at the victim, hitting him in the chest, hip and right leg. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINESHe was transported to the hospital by private vehicle and placed in stable condition, authorities say. AdvertisementAnyone with information is asked to call Philadelphia police. 

DOVER, Del. - Delaware State Police is investigating a fatal single motor-vehicle collision on I-495 on Saturday morning. According to police, at approximately 3:57 a.m., a 35-year-old Philadelphia man in a 2016 Mercedes Benz was traveling southbound on I-495 south of the Philadelphia Pike when it crossed over the partial left shoulder and struck the guardrail. Authorities say as a result of hitting the guardrail, the vehicle traveled southwest, crossed the three southbound travel lanes, rolled down a grass embankment and struck a concrete support and DELDOT pole. According to police, the car also overturned and came to rest on its roof in the area of East Holly Oak Road. Authorities say the driver, who has not yet been identified, was not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene. AdvertisementAnyone with information is asked to call Delaware State Police at 1-800-TIP-3333.

PHILADELPHIA - Police say a man has been taken into custody after a shootout in Southwest Philadelphia last month.On March 21, two men were seen engaged in a heated argument on the front porch of a home on the 2200 block of South 69th Street.One suspect backs away while shouting at another suspect, then both men reconvene on the steps with the hands in their pockets.Surveillance video captures the moment both suspects pull out handguns, open fire then retreat in opposite directions.Police say neither suspect, nor a bystander who can be seen in the video, were struck by gunfire. One of the suspects caught in the video has been arrested, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA - A 55-year-old man was shot multiple times outside a strip mall in West Philadelphia Wednesday night.Police say shots were fired after the victim was confronted by three men as he exited a store on 58th Street and Baltimore around 9 p.m.Shots rang out at strip mall in West Philadelphia.  The victim told police he returned fire with his licensed gun.He suffered gunshot wounds to his stomach, lower back and leg, but is in stable condition, according to police.One bullet also struck his ballistic vest, which authorities say may have saved his life. EDGEWATER PARK, N.J. - A man is dead and a woman is injured after authorities say they were found shot inside a car Wednesday night in Burlington County. According to investigators, the victims were shot while sitting inside a car outside a property on the 200 block of Ivy Road around 6:30 p.m. The unnamed man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to Cooper University Medical Center in unknown condition, police said. Evidence markets littered the front of the property and several bullet holes peppered the victim's car.

(John McCoy/Getty Images)"Fore!" is probably something one Massachusetts family will no longer have to hear after winning a lawsuit against a neighboring country club that pelted their home with golf balls for nearly four years. The Tenczar family of Kingston, Massachusetts, was awarded nearly $5 million in damages in December 2021 after their home, and mental health, suffered major damages from golf balls flying onto their property from the Indian Pond Country Club nearby, according to court documents. The family originally savored the beautiful views of the 15th fairway that abutted their property and the quiet neighborhood they felt so lucky to join in 2017, but soon golfers began showing up in droves and their once idyllic home turned into what felt like a battlefield, The Boston Globe reported. Windows were shattered, the siding on their home had numerous golf ball-sized dents and the Tenczars were genuinely afraid for their children’s safety. Over the past four years, Erik and Athina Tenczar gathered nearly 700 golf balls that landed on their property, according to The Globe. "When it hits, it sounds like a gunshot," Athina, 36, told The Globe.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDHR) has found the Minneapolis Police Department and City of Minneapolis engaged in a pattern of racist discrimination, violating state civil rights law. "The lack of collective and sustained action among city and MPD leaders has, in effect, allowed this organizational culture to fester within MPD and resulted in unlawful policing practices that undermine public safety," the report says, adding: "Without fundamental organizational culture changes, reforming MPD’s policies, procedures, and trainings will be meaningless."Minnesota Department of Human Rights Commissioner Rebecca Lucero presents the department's findings, released on Wednesday, April 27.

CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. - Two drivers are injured after police say a car hit a school bus in a head-on collision Wednesday morning.The crash occurred on the 1400 block of Jarvis Road in Gloucester Township around 8 a.m.Police say the driver of a Toyota Camry suffered a medical emergency when he crossed over the yellow line and hit the school bus head-on.Police say one child was onboard when the bus crashed. One child was on board the bus at the time of the crash, but was not injured, according to police.

PHILADELPHIA - Police in Philadelphia are investigating a shooting that took place in South Philadelphia early Wednesday morning, police say. Officers with the 3rd District responded to a report of gunshots on Jackson Street, according to authorities. Chief Inspector Scott Small says when officers arrived on the scene they found the shooting scene but were unable to locate a victim. Officers later learned there was a shooting victim around the corner on Columbus Boulevard, Small says. According to Small, the victim, 31, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and police took him to Jefferson Hospital, where he is in stable condition. Police say a 31-year-old sound engineer was shot once outside of a reccording studio in South Philadelphia.  ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe victim told police he is a sound engineer who was working at a recording studio when he ordered food through Uber Eats, Small says. Police say, the victim disclosed that when he went outside to meet the Uber Eats delivery driver that he saw five men in masks approaching him. According to police, the sound engineer said he began to run and was shot in the leg as he fled the scene. He then ran into a Wawa where police later found him, authorities say. Small says 21 spent shell casings were found outside of the recording studio where the victim was shot. "We know 21 shots were fired from a semi-automatic weapon," Small says. Detectives are on location processing the scene and looking for surveillance video, according to authorities. AdvertisementThe investigation is active and ongoing.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - A three-month-old baby who was kidnapped from San Jose was found on Tuesday and three suspects were taken into custody, police said. "This is every parent's worst nightmare," San Jose Police Chief Anthony Mata said at a news conference, adding that he was glad this kidnappings had a "positive outcome." The discovery at about 9:30 a.m. capped about 20 hours of an intense hunt to find missing Brandon Cuellar, who was taken from an apartment complex on Monday around 1 p.m.

BENSALEM, Pa. - Bensalem police are looking for a suspect after three 7-Eleven robberies over the past two months.One robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven on the 3500 block of Street Road at 2:20 a.m. on April 20.Police say a man, 25-30 years of age, in a Philadelphia Eagles hoodie attempted to rob the store at gunpoint.

PHILADELPHIA - On Monday, the City of Philadelphia announced the new timeline for the implementation of the workforce vaccine mandate. According to an arbitration panel governing the mandate for employees represented by the Fraternal Order of Police, this is the final update on the matter. On February 1, the panel issued requirements, including a mandate for officers to be vaccinated by February 18. That mandate was delayed on February 28 and unvaccinated or partially vaccinated employees were not punished or placed on leave at that time. According to the panel, as of April 13, 97% of the Philadelphia Police Department have either been fully vaccinated, received at least a single dose or requested a medical or religious exemption. "Only a handful of active-duty officers remain out of compliance with the City's COVID-19 vaccination mandate policy as of Wednesday, April 13," a release from the City said. Under the new timeline, employees who do not provide proof of at least a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or a request for exemption by May 31 will be placed on Unvaccinated Leave beginning June 6. Employees who are currently on leave must comply with the mandate by May 31.Unvaccinated employees will be required to follow additional protocols including, double-masking, wearing an N95 mask or submitting to routine COVDI-19 testing. ___RELATED HEADLINESEmployees who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by May 31 will have 14 days of the schedule prescribed for the vaccine they received. For employees whose exemption requests were denied, 10 calendar days will be given to file for an appeal.
