PHILADELPHIA - A man was killed in front of his own home Friday night after police say two suspects opened fire.Police say the 42-year-old man was sitting on the porch of his home on the 900 block of Marcella Street when two men with guns started approaching just before midnight.Both men reportedly started shooting from the sidewalk, and continued as they climbed the stairs to the porch.

Police say they shot at the victim as he laid on the ground, then fled the scene."This was clearly an ambush situation," Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace told reporters.MORE HEADLINES;The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, after being found shot multiple times through his body.At least 11 shell casings were found near the gunshot-riddled porch.

Some shots were reportedly fired into the home's front door while another person was inside. It does not appear they sustained any injuries.A motive is unclear at this time, and no arrested have been made.

"This behavior has never been witnessed in detail before, and certainly never from the air," said lead author Alison Towner, a senior shark scientist at Marine Dynamics Academy in Gansbaai, South Africa, in a news release. The footage only shows one hunting event but scientists believe at least three white sharks were killed. According to the ACLU, a complaint was filed with the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division and the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights Thursday. The organization says the complaint was filed on behalf of seven students in the school district who allege "a widespread culture of discrimination against LGBQ&T students, particularly transgender and nonbinary students." According to the ACLU, the complaint is based on a five-month investigation that included interviews with dozens of current and former student and staff members, families and community stakeholders. "The picture that emerged is of a toxic educational environment for LGBQ&T students that has been exacerbated by homophobic and transphobic actions and policies taken recently by the school board and upper-level administrators," the ACLU said. MERCED COUNTY, Calif. - The missing California family believed to be kidnapped from Merced earlier in the week has been found dead.On Wednesday night Merced County Sheriff Vernon Warnke announced that all four family members – eight-month-old Aroohi Dheri and her parents, 27-year-old Jasleen Kaur and 36-year-old Jasdeep Singh, and the baby's 39-year-old uncle Amandeep Singh – were found dead.At the time of the family's disappearance, deputies believed the family was kidnapped Monday at gunpoint from a business in Merced.PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Kidnapping suspect in custody"Tonight our worst fears have been confirmed. Triple Homicide in Minuwangoda, possible link to 2017 Kite Case

COLOMBO (News 1st) – A triple homicide was reported from the Gamangedara area in Minuwangoda.Police Spokesperson SSP & Attorney Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that a 51-year-old man and his two sons 23-years-old, and 24-year-old were brutally gunned down on Thursday (6) morning.He said that multiple shooters had visited their residence on a motorcycle, and a car and carried out the murder.SSP Thalduwa said the three victims were recently released from prison following their incarceration over a separate murder case. It is reported that the murder is in connection to a kite dispute that dates back to 2017, however, these reports are yet to be verified by police.Police suspect the shooting may have been the result of a personal dispute.Further investigations are currently ongoing under the supervision of the SSP in charge of the Gampaha Districts. Unconfirmed reports said that the shooters were impersonating law enforcement personnel, and T-56 assault rifles were used for the murder.

PHILADELPHIA - A former Pennsylvania elementary school principal is facing charges after police say he peered into the windows of several South Jersey homes and even tried to force a woman into her bedroom.Danny McEaddy was arrested in August after investigators believe he spent 7 months looking into windows of homes around Sicklerville. The Upper Darby School District confirmed to FOX 29 that McEaddy was the principal at Hillcrest Elementary school. Investigators from the Winslow Township Police Department say in February McEaddy entered a woman's home and tried to force her into her bedroom, but got away before police arrived. In May, police say he returned to the home and peered into the window. McEaddy was arrested in August when police say he was caught peering into a home in Pitman Borough.
