Police launch new scheme to reduce vehicle crime in Ayrshire as crooks strike after Covid

Ayrshire from being targeted by heartless criminals. During the past year, when the country was subject to a range of coronavirus restrictions, recorded crime fell.However, as crime rates return to pre-Covid levels, officers are seeing a rise in the number of cars, vans and motorcycles being stolen, or having items swiped from within.Attempted theft of vehicles has increased across Scotland, and in a number of divisions, there has been an increase in the number of vehicles successfully stolen.

Police are now urging the Ayrshire public to take appropriate security measures in respect of their vehicles and valuables within, to try and prevent further victims of these crimes.
