YARDLEY, Pa. - Residents of a Yardley neighborhood are being asked to shelter in place due to ongoing police activity, according to local authorities.

The Newtown Township Police Department on Wednesday said residents of the Yardley Commons on South Maine Street should remain inside "until further instructed by officers on-scene."Police advised that the area surrounding the development should also be avoided.

YARDLEY, Pa. - A Bucks County man is facing several charges including attempted murder after prosecutors say he fired a shotgun through the front door of a condo in Yardley and injured a veteran police officer. According to authorities, Yardley Borough Police Cheif Joseph Kelly was assisting a probation officer with an offender check at the Yardley Commons condo complex around 11 a.m. when 24-year-old Colin Frank Petroziello opened fire through the front door. Kelly was struck in the ear and hand and was taken to St.

PHOENIX - A man climbed down from the top of a radio tower near 36th Street and Thomas Road after several hours of negotiations Sunday afternoon and days later, the Phoenix Police department released an emotion-filled video of officers talking the man down.Phoenix rescue teams, paramedics, firefighters and other crews with the city responded after police were notified after a man who began climbing the tower at around 10 a.m.Negotiations began once the man was midway up and continued until the man made it all the way to the top.
