Narendra Damodardas Modi (born 17 September 1950) is an Indian politician serving as the 14th and current Prime Minister of India since 2014. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is the Member of Parliament for Varanasi. Modi is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist volunteer organisation. He is the first prime minister outside of the Indian National Congress to win two consecutive terms with a full majority and the second to complete five years in office after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday morning tweeted that he took his first dose of the covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS.With eight states showing a spike in fresh infections, India is set to start its second phase of covid-19 vaccination from Monday, now extended to senior citizens and people aged 45 and over with co-morbidities.“Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS," PM Modi said in his tweet.“Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19," he said in the tweet.This follows a lukewarm response to the first phase, which aimed to vaccinate 30 million health and other frontline workers but achieved less than half the number.
