The CEO of the Health Service Executive has said the HSE is looking ahead to April, May and June with a "fine balance of caution and optimism".
Speaking at the HSE's weekly Covid-19 update, Paul Reid urged people to "plan their Easter in a safe manner". "We all have real experience of when society takes a temporary break from public health measures.
It has a hugely disproportionate effect with significant consequences. "It is simply too high a price for everyone to pay." Mr Reid said the HSE "remains concerned that if we were to enter into a fourth wave, we would be doing so off high base level of hospitalisations".
