The House of Commons Work and Pensions Committee is coming to Glasgow next week as part of its inquiry into how health assessments for benefits delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) can be improved.

In an event to be held at Strathclyde University on Monday, June 27 from 11am to 1pm, the Committee is urging people on Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Employment Support Allowance (ESA), Universal Credit, Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Attendance Allowance and Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit to share their experiences.

The Committee is focusing on how the DWP can improve the application and assessment processes for these benefits. The Committee is also keen to hear from those who will be claiming the Scottish Government’s new Adult Disability Payment, which is set to replace PIP for people in Scotland by the end of 2025, following a national rollout at the end of August this year.

Details on eventbrite say that during the event participants will be asked to share their views and experiences on a number of topics including: A final list of questions will be sent to participants ahead of the session.
