PHILLIP Schofield admitted he’s ‘cutting it fine’ to return to hosting duties on Dancing On Ice this weekend after catching Covid.

The 59-year-old revealed he had a positive reading last night, meaning he’s been forced off air on today’s This Morning – and it also puts his other show at risk.

Chatting to Rochelle Humes and Alison Hammond, who has taken his place last minute, he reassured them saying: “I’m fine. I haven’t even got a sore throat now, I sneezed twice and that’s it.” Alison joked:  “Maybe it was just a little bit of dust?” Phil, who will have to isolate for at least five days, added: “I’ve got a slight temperature, but that’s about it.” The presenter, who gave fans an insight into his home, continued: “Thankfully, we’re pretty careful in there, but there’s a number of things I’m disappointed about.

Phillip Schofield apologises to Dancing on Ice co-stars in emotional Covid battle update
Phillip Schofield, 59, has revealed he’s tried everything to be able to make it to host Dancing on Ice alongside co-star Holly Willoughby, 40, in an emotional Instagram post this morning. The presenter was struck down with Covid earlier this week, meaning he had to pull out of fronting This Morning at the last minute.Phillip was hoping he’d be given the all clear just in time to host Sunday's edition of Dancing on Ice.However, the star has taken to social media to inform his three million followers that despite doing two lateral flow tests “to be absolutely sure”, the results on both have sadly come back positive.Taking a picture of the tests resting on a granite worktop, Phillip wrote today: “Did two tests to be absolutely sure (crying face emoji).”The ITV favourite then took the opportunity to wish his colleague Stephen Mulhern good luck as he steps in to replace him.“Sorry @dancingonice Have an amazing show @stephenmulhern it’s SO much fun x @hollywilloughby.”A spokesperson for Dancing on Ice commented on the news shortly after Phillip’s tearful post. They said: “Sunday's episode of Dancing on Ice will be hosted by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern while Phillip Schofield continues to self-isolate."A source also told The Mirror of Phillip’s replacement: "Phil is off recovering, Stephen was delighted to be asked to step in to fill his shoes and present alongside Holly."He gets on with everyone so bosses are more than happy for him to step up. “Everyone's wishing Phil a quick recovery and hoping to see him back in his rightful place later this month.”Phillip confirmed he had tested positive for Covid after a busy time last weekend. He had been out and about attending the theatre alongside his estranged wife Stephanie

Phillip Schofield fumes as he tests positive for Covid, sparking chaos for This Morning
This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has shared the unfortunate news that he has tested positive for COVID-19 this evening. The TV host shared a picture of a positive lateral flow test with his three million Instagram followers. Phillip, 59, usually hosts ITV hit shows This Morning and Dancing On Ice, but his presence on those programmes this week has now been thrown into uncertainty. The picture of the lateral flow test shared by the ITV presenter clearly showed two bold red lines, indicating that he had contracted the illness. The star wrote over the photo: “Oh b******s”He added of his symptoms: “Currently just a slightly sore throat”.More to follow…Phillip hosted today’s episode of This Morning with Rochelle Humes, who has been filling in for Holly Willoughby during her absence from the show. This is the third week in a row that The Saturdays singer has filled in for Holly, who is off filming her new reality show. However, it is likely that Phillip will have to pull out from presenting This Morning for the rest of this week, which should prove to be a real shake-up to the show’s format. Holly was supposed to be off This Morning for two weeks, but given her absence today, the star could be staying away for slightly longer than planned. That said, both Phillip and Holly have been reuniting in front of the camera on Sunday nights to host the 2022 series of Dancing On Ice, which returned to ITV earlier this month.Phillip announced Holly’s planned absence on last Monday’s episode of This Morning. At the time he said: “Rochelle is keeping Holly's seat warm while she is off filming her new show with The Iceman.”The BBC survival show that Holly is set to star in will see the glamorous presenter team up with Lee Mack and
