PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia officials have announced that the city would be ending its COVID-19 vaccine mandate for indoor dining under a new, tiered system of safety standards and protective measures.
City leaders and health officials announced the new standards during their weekly briefing on Wednesday as case counts have dropped significantly over the past several weeks.
Mayor Kenney hinted at the coming changes on Tuesday. The four-tiered system will allow officials to use metrics to drive decisions on when to drop restrictions and mandates.
They say those metrics would also be used to determine when restrictions and mandates should be implemented again, should the numbers worsen.
