Perthshire OAPs finally get second COVID jags after delays lasting weeks

Perth this week finally received her second COVID jag 19 weeks after her first vaccine, after the PA highlighted her case. On May 14 the UK recommendations brought forward the dose interval from 12 weeks to eight weeks for priority groups, where supply allows.This meant Georgina Sharp waited more than twice the recommended interval between COVID vaccination doses.

Last week the PA revealed several Perthshire octogenarians had waited well over 12 weeks for their second dose. One 86-year-old lady vaccinated in early February was left waiting over 14 weeks for her second dose.

However, after the PA revealed her story, she received her second vaccine last week. Meanwhile, Georgina had still not had any word when the PA spoke to her earlier this.
