Perth Prison will likely remain in lockdown until next week as COVID-19 cases continue to rise. On Wednesday, 124 individuals were confirmed to have tested positive for coronavirus at the Edinburgh Road facility – a rise of seven from Monday and 119 since last Tuesday.Eighteen prison staff members have also contract the virus.The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) confirmed that on Wednesday NHS staff sent to the site only had a handful of inmates left to test.As a precautionary measure, all inmates are still currently self-isolating until the mass testing is completed.This means prisoners do not have access to court or solicitor visits, family visits or use of the gym but do have access to open air and showers, as well as their mobile.
