FREE newsletter is as good as that first pint back at the pubUnions are urging the Government to give NHS workers a payrise.The NHS attracted huge public support during the early stages of the coronavirus campaign and now unions are calling for their efforts to be recognised.The unions, which represent 1.3 million workers including nurses, cleaners and paramedics have written to Boris Johnson and the chancellor, Rishi Sunak demanding talks start soon. Unison’s head of health Sara Gorton told the London Evening Standard : “The applause and kind words shown during the difficult days of the pandemic were a huge source of comfort to NHS staff, but now the Government should show its appreciation in a different way.
