More than 2,000 driving tests cancelled in Paisley during pandemic
Paisley missed out on sitting their tests after they were cancelled during the pandemic.The Express can reveal that a total of 2,288 practical tests were canned at the St James’ Business Centre, in Linwood Road, from the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 to March 31 this year.The shocking statistics, obtained via a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, revealed thousands of learner drivers lost out on their chance to sit the test as a result of lockdown restrictions, with hundreds axed every month.Currently, the first available test in the town is in December and driving instructors working in Renfrewshire are under pressure to clear the backlog, according to Paisley driving instructor Peter Harvey.Peter is the national
