Roman Kemp with wife Shirlie Holliman, who he married in 1988.The 58-year-old had his world turned upside down 25 years ago when doctors discovered that he had two brain tumours, with one the size of ‘a grapefruit’.He underwent surgery and radiotherapy to remove the tumours and, despite recovering, he has been left with epilepsy – which he controls with medication.While Roman was just a toddler at the time, Martin explained the ‘shock’ he experienced was ‘passed down’ to his children.Speaking about whether his illness made him closer to his son, he said: ‘When I was going through that, Roman was really young, so I’m not even sure how much he remembers.
