Kanye has gone too far – neither his ‘genius’ or mental health are excuses
Kanye West is no stranger to controversy might be an understatement, but he may still have caused some shock with his latest Instagram post. The image, since deleted, depicted a photoshopped newspaper bearing the headline ‘Skete Davidson Dead At Age 28.’West’s post is the latest in a long line of threatening statements towards Pete Davidson — who the rapper has taken to calling ‘Skete’ for reasons that make sense only to him — since the Saturday Night Live alumnus began dating West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. The couple recently ended their relationship, likely prompting West’s Instagram post, which to him probably felt like a gloating justification of his previous actions.West’s insistence on inserting himself into the private matters of a relationship he has no involvement in (no matter how much he may think he does) is typical of the artist, who treats every interaction as though he is the main character. It’s difficult to watch, not least because the rapper has so much to offer outside of the constant drama and scandals in which he entangles himself. While the general public — myself included —  have previously given West a pass when it comes to his embarrassing behaviour due to his difficult personal circumstances and mental health struggles, this incident may be a bridge too far even for him.Other incidents in West’s months-long campaign against the former couple include the rapper releasing a music video that depicts the kidnapping and assault of Pete Davidson, and sharing private text messages from Kim Kardashian’s phone on social media. While West has previously claimed that he would take accountability for some of his actions against the former couple, including sharing texts, his latest post clearly demonstrates

(Photo Illustration by Rafael Henrique/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images) Social media platform Instagram decided to stall plans to update its app after celebrity users Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner criticized the platform for emulating TikTok. Several Instagram users, including the Kardashian sisters, were vocal about the test version of the app, arguing the platform was too similar to social media rival TikTok and saying Instagram does not focus enough on sharing photos anymore. Instagram, which is owned by Meta, announced it will reverse some updates to its photo-sharing app, including altering its algorithm for users to view more recommended videos on their home screens. Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, took to social media Tuesday to address concerns users may have about the platform updates and what the company is working on to create a better experience. INSTAGRAM HEAD SAYS FEED WILL SHIFT MORE TOWARD VIDEO CONTENTHe captioned the video post with a waving hand emoji, saying, "There’s a lot happening on Instagram right now."NETFLIX EXPANDING PASSWORD-SHARING CRACKDOWN WITH NEW TEST"We’re experimenting with a number of different changes to the app.

Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon (Photos by Paul Morigi and Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images) NEW YORK - Pete Davidson bid farewell to "Saturday Night Live" on the show’s finale this weekend after eight seasons with the late-night program. The 28-year-old made his final goodbye on the "Weekend Update" news segment, saying hello to co-hosts Colin Jost, Michael Che and "millions of people only watching to see if I bring up Kanye."Davidson began dating Kanye West's ex Kim Kardashian after she hosted the show last October, raising the ire of the "Stronger" rapper. Kardashian wasn't at the show because she's in Italy for her sister Kourtney Kardashian's wedding. "I never imagined this would be my life," he said, adding when he first started at 20 years old he was "just a skinny kid and no one knew what race I was." But he says now everyone knows he’s White because he "became hugely successful while barely showing up to work." FILE - Pete Davidson attends The 2022 Met Gala Celebrating "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 02, 2022 in New York City.  (Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The Met Museum/Vogue)In a reference to Will Smith slapping "SNL" alum Chris Rock, Davidson self-deprecatingly joked that on one hand, he doesn’t condone audience members jumping onstage to hit comedians but "on the other it’s how I know all my shows will be sold out."The comedian said he would miss "SNL" creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels who he said gives him the best advice, including during his audition for the show."He looked me right in the eye and said 'I don't know, I don't think you're right for this show, so let's screw this up together,' " Davidson said.
