Charges refiled against former Philadelphia police inspector accused of striking protester last summer
PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has refiled charges against a former city cop accused of striking a student protester with a metal baton during a protest last summer."Philadelphians demand evenhanded justice and we are trying our very best to give them exactly that. Our oath to seek justice requires nothing less," Krasner said in a statement Thursday night.Reckless endangerment, possession of an instrument of crime and felony aggravated assault charges were dismissed against former Police Staff Inspector Joseph Bologna, 54, in January.Bologna was allegedly captured on video in July striking Temple University student Evan Gorski on the head with a baton during a peaceful protest.
