The suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound while his mother remains in hospital after sustaining injuries when she tried to wrestle the gun away from her son.“The Edmonton Police Service has been marked by a really unthinkable and horrific tragedy as two of our members have died in the line of duty,” EPS Chief Dale McFee said.On Sunday afternoon, the Ryan and Jordan families released statements thanking the community for its support while they grieve.“Grieving the sudden loss of a beloved member of our family is ineffable,” the Ryan family said.
