New Delhi: The Centre has asked all states to integrate government health programmes, schemes and portals with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to speed up a national digital health ID for citizens, even as experts cautioned about the need to build fool-proof data security. The Centre’s push for speeding up Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA ID), comes at a time when the health ministry’s covid-19 vaccination portal has been reportedly hacked, though the government denied there was a direct data breach. ABHA ID enables citizens to authenticate, access and manage their health records digitally and facilitates hospital and doctors’ appointments, helping patients avoid queues.

World Bank to support India with $1 billion to boost public health infra

The COVID-19 pandemic brought to the fore the urgent need for pandemic preparedness and health system strengthening around the world and was a stark reminder that pandemic preparedness is a global public good New Delhi : The World Bank and India on Friday signed two complementary loans of $500 million each to support and boost the country’s public healthcare system. Through this combined financing of $1 billion, World Bank will support India’s flagship Pradhan Mantri-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), to improve public healthcare infrastructure across the country, the multi-lateral agency said in a statement.

Over 25 crore health records of individuals linked to their ABHA: Centre

NEW DELHI : Over 25 crore health records of individuals have been linked to their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday. This is another milestone for the National Health Authority (NHA) under its flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in building a digitally connected healthcare ecosystem. “These records can be easily accessed and managed by the individuals using any of the ABDM-enabled health apps. The digitally available health records will enable the ABHA holders in availing paper-less health services across the ABDM network," the ministry added. Individuals can use their Personal Health Records (PHR) apps to access their records across different health facilities like hospitals, clinics, diagnostic labs etc.

NEW DELHI : The ransomware attack on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi has brought the government’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) under the scanner, with the country’s premier teaching hospital promoting the use of Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID for out-patients registration of new and follow-up cases. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) is conducting assessment and testing of ABDM services and other networks at the medical institute.

DigiLocker can be used as a health locker for storing and accessing health records such as vaccination records, doctor prescriptions, lab reports, hospital discharge summaries etc New Delhi: DigiLocker, the authentic documents exchange platform under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has completed its second-level of integration with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the National Health Authority (NHA) said on Thursday. The secure cloud-based storage platform of DigiLocker can be used now as a health locker for storing and accessing health records such as vaccination records, doctor prescriptions, lab reports, hospital discharge summaries etc, stated NHA. DigiLocker had earlier completed level 1 integration with ABDM wherein the platform had added ABHA or Ayushman Bharat Health Account creation facility for its 13 crore users.

Only 240 million sign up for health ID

NEW DELHI : Despite the government aiming to get every citizen to enrol for a digital health ID, only around a fifth of Indians have bothered to do so. Ayushman Bharat Health Account ID or ABHA card, which will digitally preserve all personal health records, has had only 240 million takers so far. This is due to concerns over data privacy on account of data breaches, according to an official.
