A family is demanding a solution after their home keeps getting hit by cars. YEADON, Pa. - Car crashes, police chases, drunk drivers.
One family's home in Yeadon just keeps getting more and more dangerous.Claire Williams, who lives on MacDade Boulevard and Church Lane, is no stranger to having her property damaged.
Most recently, a car caused a massive hole and gas leak after losing control and going airborne. The basement is now covered in rubble above a cracked foundation. She believes it's only a matter of time before another speeding car hits a dip and crashes out of control."If you are going at a high rate of speed it actually kind of airborne you into the yard," Claire said.Nearly two dozen crashes have been reported at the home for nearly a decade, but lately it's getting worse.Their new fence was destroyed twice, once in July and again in February.
In October, their windows were shattered by a truck. And just a couple of months ago, a car crashed into their tree and caught on fire. However, car crashes aren't the only incidents the Williams have experience right outside their front door."We had a hit-and-run, the cops chasing people, drunken drivers all come through this yard," she said. The couple says now they can't even live in their home.
