Patients urged to wait their turn for second Covid jab after GPs inundated with calls

Practices in Bolton have reported receiving multiple calls a day about the booster jab and doctors are concerned that this could block patients with urgent issues from getting through as quickly as possible.

Anyone in the borough who has had their first vaccination is advised not to contact their GP practice unless 11 weeks has passed.

Bolton NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the body behind the vaccine rollout, says there are no issues with supplies and that many clinics have begun to give out the second dose.
