A number of parishes in Dublin moved their communion masses to today ahead of tighter restrictions around worship, which will come in force at midnight.
Under the new rules, religious services will move online. However, there were plenty of smiles on show from the pupils of Scoil Maelruain in Tallaght as they made their communion today.
It originally been due to take place in May, but Covid-19 intervened. It was then scheduled for tomorrow, but the impending restrictions meant a last-minute change.
Parent Alison Howlett said it was all very rushed, but that she was glad that the Communion went ahead and was not postponed again.
