OTTAWA -- Ottawa Public Health is confirming 28 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa in its latest report, marking an eighth straight day of double-digit increases in the total case count in the nation's capital.
Nine new cases were in children under 10. Since the first case was confirmed on March 11, there have been 2,389 total, laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the city.

There were 62 cases over the same period of time a week before, for an average of 8.86 cases per day. Ontario recorded a slight dip in cases province wide Saturday compared to Friday.
