Trump was born and raised in Queens, a borough of New York City, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan. The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television series, from 2003 to 2015. As of 2019, Forbes estimated his net worth to be $3.1 billion

One month before election, campaign sees biggest twist so far

Tomorrow will mark exactly one month to the US presidential election. The campaign has had countless twists, turns and surprises and this morning we saw the biggest one so far.

Just before 6am Irish time, US president Donald Trump tweeted that he and the First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Two hours earlier he had tweeted that his close aide, Hope Hicks, had tested positive and that he and Mrs Trump were awaiting their own test results and were quarantining.

Prior to the release of his own test results, Mr Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity that it was difficult for him and those close to him to avoid the virus since so many others, including members of the military, try to interact with them.
