TUCKERTON, NJ - A massive wildfire in New Jersey consumed thousands of acres of forest and forced dozens of people to leave their homes as firefighters work to extinguish the flames. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service said the Bass River State Forest wildfire is 50% contained and has scorched 5,000 acres. The blaze was first detected around 5 p.m. Wednesday by a state-owned fire tower off Allen Road in Tuckerton, New Jersey.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating two shootings in Kensington that happened less than one mile apart from each other on Thursday night. According to authorities, officers with the 24th District responded to the 3100 block of G Street around 10:25 p.m.Responding officers found a 15-year-old girl shot once in each thigh, officials say. She was transported to Temple Hospital by police, where she was placed in critical but stable condition. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES Minutes later, officers from the same district responded to the 800 block of E Allegheny Avenue, which is less than one mile away form the shooting scene on G Street. Police say a 29-year-old man was shot in the right calf and transported to Temple Hospital, where he was placed in stable condition. Authorities say no weapons were found and no arrests were made in either shooting. Officials have not said if the shootings are connected. This is a developing story.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a shooting on a Kensington street, where police say a teenage shooting victim was found. According to authorities, just after 10 p.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to the 800 block of E Allegheny Avenue for a report of gunshots. Officials say responding officers found a 15-year-old girl lying on G Street with a gunshot wound to both thighs. She was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she is in critical condition, but expected to survive, police say. Chief Inspector Scott Small says about 15 minutes later, police heard gunshots as they were investigating the scene. Officers ran in the direction and found a 25-year-old man firing shots, police say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES According to Small, officers were able to get him to lay down and hand over his weapon. Police say he was also shot in both legs and taken to Temple University Hospital, where he is in stable condition. Officials say investigators believe he was the one who was firing shots on the 800 block of E Allegheny, where the teenage girl was struck. The man was also taken into custody, police say. According to investigators, 14 spent shell casings were found at the scene. Police say cars on E Allegheny Avenue were also struck by gunfire. This is a developing story.

TRENTON, N.J. - A police pursuit that ended in a crash on a New Jersey highway led to the discovery of firearms stolen from a Pennsylvania gun store, sources say.FOX 29 was on scene at Rt. 29 in Trenton near the Calhoun Street Bridge, where Trenton and Middletown Township Police were investigating and collecting evidence. Police say officers were chasing the car before it crashed on the New Jersey highway. Evidence collected from the vehicle's trunk included multiple firearms, both assault rifles and handguns, with tags from a gun store. Sources tell FOX 29's Steve Keeley, that the chase began in Pennsylvania at a gun store in Bucks County. Five people were captured on surveillance video using a Kia, reported stolen out of Philadelphia, to access the second story of the LugerMan gun store in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, sources say. While inside, the suspects broke glass cases and stole the firearms, per police sources. As officers from the Middletown Township Police Department arrived on scene, they chased the Kia and used stop sticks to disable the vehicle. Law enforcement sources say the vehicle made it over the Calhoun Street Bridge, where Trenton Police got involved, capturing three of the five suspects. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESEugene Golubtsov, the owner of the LugerMan store, spoke with FOX 29 and detailed the events he saw on his store's surveillance video.

Thousands of people have journeyed to the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles Monastery in Gower, Mo., on a religious pilgrimage, or simply to catch a curious glimpse of the nun’s body.On Sunday, the monastery saw an average of 200 vehicles arrive at the abbey’s property every hour, according to Clinton County Sheriff Larry Fish.
