"I was the first one there, his friends were saying ‘Steven, are you okay!?’ I ran over there and Steven was on the floor and I checked his pulse and there was nothing there," Gym teacher Adam Miller said.Miller called 911 and school nurse Mary Clary rushed into the gym to provide emergency CPR. Clary told FOX 29 she had recently been re-certified in CPR from by a fellow district nurse. On Thursday, Kenney announced the resignation of Kathryn Ott Lovell as Commissioner of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. "When the pandemic forced us all outdoors, our City parks and playgrounds quickly became the center of our lives. During that time, Kathryn led a team at PPR to serve Philadelphians in new ways - turning recreation centers into virtual learning hubs and transforming residential blocks into mobile summer camp experiences," Mayor Kenney said. Sheriff Rochelle Bilal and Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner held a joint press conference on Wednesday morning to announce the arrest of a man known as one of "Philadelphia's most wanted fugitives." According to Bilal, on Tuesday morning, members of the Sheriff's Fugitive Warrant Unit, U.S. Marshals and Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide Unit arrested Gregory Burnett in Darby, Pennsylvania. Burnett is accused of fatally shooting a 31-year-old man on the 5000 block of Marion Avenue on August 16, 2020. PHILADELPHIA - A young man has died days after he was shot in the head in Philadelphia, police say. According to authorities, the shooting took place on the 1500 block of West Tioga Avenue in the city's Tioga section. Police say officers were dispatched to the address for a report of a person with a gun on Monday at 11:34 p.m. Officials say first responders found the 23-year-old man on the 3rd floor with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday morning at 4:52 a.m., according to authorities.
