COLOMBO (News 1st) – Sri Lanka's Women and Child Affairs Secretary Neil Bandara Hapuhinna says that the project to provide nutrition packs for pregnant and lactating mothers was suspended due to the lack of funds.As per this project, pregnant and lactating mothers were entitled to a nutrition pack worth Rs.
4500/-.In the meantime, the production of Thriposha, suspended, has resumed.Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited said 34 containers of maize ordered for the production of Triposha have reached the Colombo Port, and 14 containers were unloaded after confirming that the shipment does not contain aflatoxin.Chairman of Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited Deepthi Kularathna said about 50,000 packets of Triposha are distributed to MOH Divisions daily at present.The production of Triposha for children will resume in the coming weeks..
