The number of people in hospital with coronavirus in England is at it's highest level since March, according to new NHS figures.
It comes as the highly transmissible Omicron variant continues to rip through the country. The latest figure is up by 27 per cent from the week before, and is the highest number recorded since March 5. In London, 2,640 people were in hospital with Covid-19 on December 27, up 45% week-on-week, and the highest number since February 22.
There were three NHS hospital trusts that did not report data for Covid-19 patients and admissions on December 27, NHS England
