The number of people in intensive care units with Covid-19 has dropped to 99 with the number of coronavirus cases in hospital now at 401.
Head of the Health Service Executive Paul Reid tweeted the latest figures this morning. Yesterday there were 426 Covid-19 patients in hospital, 102 of whom were being treated in intensive care. Latest coronavirus cases Mr Reid also said that he is going to the Helix at Dublin City University this morning as almost 1,500 people will be vaccinated there today against Covid-19.
Yesterday, the Department of Health said it had been notified of nine further coronavirus-related deaths and 522 new cases. In a statement, the National Public Health Emergency Team said that four of the deaths occurred this month,
