CHERRY HILL, N.J. - It’s been more than two months since New Jersey enacted its plastic bag ban and some Garden State residents are having a hard time remembering to bring reusable bags and are taking off with the plastic baskets.Change can be hard for some folks and, in New Jersey, some folks are simply stuck in their ways. "It’s a little ridiculous," one shopper laughed.May 4th, New Jersey banned plastic and paper bags.

Ever since then, it’s been a struggle for some folks to remember to bring their own bags. Every time. Every single time. I have actually never remembered my bags since the bag-less thing started," Chip responded.Chip didn’t take a basket home, but he did have a hack of his own."Is this the hack of just putting stuff in and bringing the whole cart?" Espinoza questioned."Absolutely!

Sure, yeah, absolutely," Chip exclaimed.Laura Kepler is an avid ‘Remembers Her Bag’ kind of person and she says it’s not that hard and people shouldn’t steal baskets. "I guess people forget their bags, which makes sense, but I wouldn’t want to steal from the store.

OCEAN CITY, N.J. - Among the many small businesses hammered during the COVID-19 pandemic, beach shops that thrive on a short window of opportunity to turn a profit are finally bouncing back. As thousands flocked to the shore for summer's unofficial last hurrah this Labor Day Weekend, shop owners reported crowds and profits that rivaled pre-pandemic levels. Wendy Barth of Separately Swimwear in Ocean City, New Jersey told FOX 29 that the bare spots on her shop walls are visible examples of a profitable summer. "It’s great to see everybody back out shopping and being here and feeling comfortable and yeah enjoying life again," one shopper told FOX 29's Ellen Kolodziej. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAt the nearby Shirt Shack, workers believe summer 2022 was one of their "best summers ever." "It was a little slow in the beginning because of the weather, but then it picked up great, and we had a great June, great July, it was really awesome," Iuliia Lobunets said. It's not only the financial benefit of larger crowds at the shore that had small business owners and workers excited this summer, but the return to normal everyone was waiting for."It was fantastic to see all the towns come back together, come back to life, so it’s great to see Ocean City such alive again," Courtney Wolf said.Jeffrey and Jacque Trucksess, who own a small business in Pennsylvania, know first hand what the shore town shops have been through and they're happy to see them weather the storm."I think the people are willing to go out and spend, we’re in a recession, we can’t really do anything about it, and we can either just be afraid or we can just enjoy," Jacque Trucksess said.

Florida man accused of stalking 6-year-old child
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla - A man was arrested, accused of aggravated stalking of a 6-year-old girl after witnesses say he made several inappropriate comments over the course of eight months. Deputies say close to a dozen people came forward and reported his behavior, which included 11 such incidents dating back to the beginning of this year. MORE NEWS: WATCH: Large rattlesnake found outside Florida homeWitnesses said 55-year-old Mark Greenburg had been harassing neighbors, yelling at them and their kids using a megaphone, driving past houses while recording children on his phone and possibly even following them. Deputies responded to Greenburg's house on Fayson Circle in Deltona after a man said he walked to the end of his driveway and was making several unusual comments to his 6-year-old daughter. Some of the comments he made included, "I'm going to make you famous" and "I'm going to turn you into a woman" or something about a "big girl" and even saying he was going to pick her up and take her to Disney World. Several of the man's neighbors heard him say the comments as well. The father of the child said it was getting progressively worse and more frequent, and getting to the point where his daughter afraid to go outside in the neighborhood. One incident was reported where the child went to visit her grandmother, who also lives in the same neighborhood, where they saw Greenburg parked outside of the home for two days taking pictures.
