"We urge residents and businesses to conserve water as persistent dry and hot conditions continue to stress water supplies throughout the state," the agency wrote on Facebook. "These measures can help avoid more serious and restrictive drought conditions." To save water inside the home, the agency recommends taking five-minute showers, turning the water off while brushing your teeth, running the washing machine and dishwasher only when it's full and taking care of household leaks. LAS VEGAS (AP) - More human remains have been found at drought-stricken Lake Mead National Recreation Area east of Las Vegas, authorities said Sunday.It’s the fourth time since May that remains have been uncovered as Western drought forces the shoreline to retreat at the shrinking Colorado River reservoir behind the Hoover Dam.National Park Service officials said rangers were called to the reservoir between Nevada and Arizona around 11 a.m. Saturday after skeletal remains were discovered at Swim Beach.Rangers and a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police dive team went to retrieve the remains.Park Service officials said the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will try to determine when and how the person died as investigators review records of missing people.On May 1, a barrel containing human remains was found near Hemenway Harbor.

Lightning strike sparks massive fire at Cuban crude oil site; 17 firefighters missing

HAVANA - Lightning struck a crude oil storage tank in the city of Matanzas, causing a spreading fire that led to four explosions which injured nearly 80 people and left 17 firefighters missing, Cuban authorities said Saturday.Firefighters and other specialists were still trying to quell the blaze at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, which began during a thunderstorm Friday night, the Ministry of Energy and Mines tweeted.The official Cuban News Agency said the lightning strike set one tank on fire and the blaze later spread to a second tank.The Facebook page of the provincial government of Matanzas said the number of injured had reached 77, while 17 people were missing. The Presidency of the Republic said the 17 were "firefighters who were in the nearest area trying to prevent the spread."The accident comes as Cuba struggles with fuel shortages.

Gas prices drop again in NJ, around nation amid low demand

TRENTON, N.J. - Gas prices dropped again in New Jersey and around the nation amid continued low demand and further declines in crude oil prices. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $4.33, down eight cents from last week. Drivers were paying $3.20 a gallon on average a year ago at this time. The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.11, down 14 cents from last week. Drivers were paying $3.19 a gallon on average a year ago at this time.

Residents set up encampment to protest possible sale of Philadelphia affordable housing townhomes

PHILADELPHIA - Residents of a Philadelphia affordable living townhome community are protesting its possible sale by setting up a tent encampment. The University City Townhomes were told by a Philadelphia judge Friday that their encampment must be disassembled by Monday morning. The residents, many of whom are Black and Hispanic, say they will not budge as the city scrambles to find suitable alternatives. "A lot of them are in difficult neighborhoods and some of them have holes in the ceilings and walls, I can’t believe they’re showing us stuff like that," Darlene Foreman told FOX 29's Jeff Cole. They're now selling the land for redevelopment, something the neighborhood has seen a lot of recently. For others, the cost of living in Philadelphia represents another challenge.
