Nicola Sturgeon to give covid update today as Omicron cases continue to rise

Nicola Sturgeon is set to give an update on the state of the coronavirus pandemic in the Scottish Parliament later today. The First Minister will give her weekly update on how the country is coping with the covid pandemic that struck more than 18 months ago.

Sturgeon is expected to give a 20-minute statement on covid-19 before taking questions from member of parliament for around 40 minutes in the chamber.

During the address the SNP leader is expected to urge caution as cases of the new Omicron variant continue to spread across the country.
