Nicola Sturgeon sets out ideas for first 100 days as covid recovery at heart of plans

The First Minister laid out her plans for government as the country continues to recover from the devastating pandemic that claimed the lives of thousands of Scots and shattered nearly every aspect of the economy.

NHS recovery is seen as the SNP government 's big priority with a plan to get it back on its feet in the course of the next couple of months.

Education, children, transport and the climate emergency were all addressed in her 3,350-word speech to MSPs in the Scottish Parliament.

Sturgeon added that once the crisis has passed Scotland should have the choice to decide its own future in a referendum. Bringing forward legislation for a National Care Service is high on the agenda for new Health Secretary Humza Yousaf.
