Thousands of people have been tested since four cases of E484K, a mutation of the Kent strain which has spread across the country, were found in Moss Side earlier this month.

This week it was revealed that a case of the same variant was found in Moston and Harpurhey, prompting testing resources to shift to the north of the city.
