COLOMBO (News 1st) – State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe says that the appointment of an individual to the now vacant position of Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka will be done once the President returns to the island following his official visit to Japan.He added the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance forwarded Janaka Rathnayake the letter related to the removal of him from the post of Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission.The State Minister also says that Janaka Rathnayake has accepted the said letter.The proposal to remove Janaka Rathnayake from the position of Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission was passed by a majority of 46 votes in the recent voting held in the Parliament..
