Pubs and restaurants will have to abide by new laws imposed by the Scottish Government from today. It is now mandatory for indoor hospitality premises to collect the contact details of customers in order to help the Test and Protect service.
The NHS Scotland service is designed to identify close contacts if someone in an enclosed area later tests positive for coronavirus.
Any close contacts will have to self-isolate for 14 days after they have been contact traced.Details received from customers must be destroyed or deleted after 21 days.Collecting contact details was originally issued as guidance from the Scottish Government, but there have been growing concerns that some businesses are not following it.
