Part of the set of Netflix's Matilda has had to shut down. The streaming giant had to close one of the filming units yesterday following a positive Covid test.
A source told Deadline that the filming pause could last as long as 10 days. In the meantime, the second unit will continue shooting the new adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl book that has already been adapted for the West End and Broadway.
Tony and Olivier Award winner Matthew Warchus, who led the way on Matilda The Musical is directing the film adaptation for Netflix with the screenplay being adapted by Dennis Kelly with original music and lyrics written by funnyman Tim Minchin.
