The National Car Testing Service is to continue to operate during Level 5 restrictions. The NCT has been deemed an essential service and all centres will remain fully operational.

Customers who are due to attend for a test have been advised of the safety protocols in place during Level 5 at testing centres.

Earlier this year, tests were suspended and some customers qualified for a four-month extension. The extension of NCT due dates applies only to vehicles with a test due date of 28 March 2020 or later.

Most customers have been issued with a new test date and the service is advising people to check their new test date and present for the test.
