NACI recommends longer interval between COVID-19 vaccine doses, Pfizer preferred over Moderna for Canadians aged 12-29

Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) on Friday recommended that Canadians aged 12-29 should take the Pfizer BioNtech Comirnaty 30 microgram dose as opposed to the Moderna Spikevax 100 microgram dose for their primary series of vaccine doses.

As well, a longer interval of eight weeks between primary series doses may also lower the rare risk of Myocarditis and Pericarditis and provide a stronger immune response and higher vaccine effectiveness..
