RYLAN Clark has opened up about his mental health crisis saying it hit him in the face like "a baseball bat". Rylan, 33, was hospitalised after suffering a breakdown after he split from husband Dan Neal.

The presenter spiralled last year after his marriage crumbled and he took four months off work. Rylan, who was married to his former policeman hubby Dan for six years, said his recent mental health issues delivered a huge blow.

He added in the latest episode of his podcast Ry-union: “I’ve never in my life thought that I would go through a crisis like that. "But I did, ultimately, and it literally hit me round the face like a baseball bat, because I always thought I was too strong for it. "Like, I’m never going to let anything like that happen to me, but then it does and it’s really, really hard to deal with.”  Rylan and Dan married in 2015 and they split last summer. @font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Regular.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:400;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.woff') format('woff'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.ttf') format('truetype'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-Medium.svg#') format('svg');font-style:normal;font-weight:500;font-display:swap;}@font-face{font-family:'The Sun';src:url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-HeavyNarrow.woff2') format('woff2'),url('/assets/fonts/the-sun/TheSun-HeavyNarrow.woff').
