A devastated husband has described how he was able to tell his wife "I love you" one last time before she died of Covid-19. Rob Hurley said he had managed to utter the words to his wife of 30 years as they spoke over the phone before she was transferred to the intensive care unit at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
Paying tribute to the 54-year-old mother-of-three, he said Helen was a "happy and strong" grandmother who doted on her four grandchildren.
Rob praised the "tremendous" staff at the hospital who "bent over backwards" to make his wife feel as comfortable as possible while she battled for her life after contracting the virus, WalesOnline reports.
