DARBY, Pa. - An employee of St. Francis Country House is facing charges after they were accused of assaulting an elderly resident earlier this week. On Monday at around 5 p.m., Darby Borough police say they were dispatched to the nursing home on Lansdowne Ave. Upon arrival, officers say they met with an employee of the nursing home who told them that a nurse witnessed a nursing assistant, later identified as Ednise Dulcio, strike a resident. Police say the incident was caught on video, and that Dulcio can be seen striking a 92-year-old resident with an open hand while the resident was sitting in their wheelchair. After speaking with the witness, police say they learned that Dulcio struck the resident prior to the incident that was captured on video. Authorities say Dulcio was arrested in her home on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m.

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Delaware State Police arrested a man and charged him with his eighth DUI offense after a crash on Monday. On April 11, just before 3:00 p.m., state troopers responded to an accident in Georgetown, Del. Police say when they arrived to the scene, they found a black Nissan Quest, which had overturned onto its side in a wooded area near Dupont Boulevard. Police say Richard Cook, 50, was behind the wheel and two passengers, a 49-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Bayhealth Sussex Hospital. Police conducted a DUI investigation and took Cook in to custody at the scene. After searching Cook's vehicle, police say they found 2.04 grams of marijuana, suspected liquid heroin, drug paraphernalia, 2 fixed-knife blades, and a firearm. Authorities learned that Cook's driver's license was suspended, and he had been convicted for seven prior DUI offenses. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and other related offenses. Cook was committed on a $39,501 cash bond.

According to police, 26-year-old Christopher Disabatino of Historic New Castle and 54-year-old Raymond Disabatino of Newark were arrested on multiple felony criminal charges. Authorities say state police began investigating a series of copper wire thefts from the 900 block of Center Road on March 25. During the thefts, the suspects damaged the victim's property and removed about $50,000 worth in copper wiring, investigators say. According to police, the two were developed as suspects. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINESOn April 8, police took both men into custody at Eastern Metal Recycling where they were attempting to sell the stolen copper wiring, authorities say. Raymond Disabatino, 54, of Newark, Delaware was arrested for thefts of copper wiring. Investigators say detectives also had information linking Christopher to a burglary at Odyssey Charter School in Wilmington on December 2.

Man, 27, in critical condition after being shot in Frankford, police say

PHILADELPHIA - Officers with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating a shooting in Frankford that took place on Sunday. According to police, the incident happened on the 1400 block of E Cheltenham Avenue at 4:46 a.m. Authorities say a 27-year-old man was shot once in the stomach and transported to Temple University Hospital by private vehicle. Police say he is currently listed in critical condition. At this time, no arrests have been made and no weapon was recovered, police say.
