The majority of third-level students will be back on college campuses in September, according to the Minister for Higher Education.
Simon Harris said while there still may be some aspects of learning that may need to be done online, the Government is planning for a full return to third-level education in person and that students can expect a significant increase in on-campus learning.
He said a pilot programme of rapid testing being carried out at four universities from this week would help determine if this type of testing would be a part of college life.
