More than 1,400 care home staff in Greater Manchester still haven't had a Covid-19 vaccine as deadline approaches

More than 1,000 of Greater Manchester’s care home workers have not yet had a Covid-19 jab as the vaccination deadline approaches.

Plans for mandatory jabs for staff in care homes in England were announced in June, with November 11 the deadline for workers to have received both doses of vaccine.

There are currently 1,412 (6.4%) care home staff who have not yet had their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination across Greater Manchester. READ MORE: That figure includes a number of staff who are exempt from vaccination.

The region’s Health and Social Care Partnership, which released the data as part of a weekly update, says there are “no significant concerns” that the impact of unvaccinated staff leaving employment will affect business continuity
