LOS GATOS, Calif. - A mother threw parties with alcohol for young teenagers where she encouraged and watched sex acts, including assaults, according to charges filed by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.Shannon Marie O’Connor, aka, Shannon Bruga, 47, who now lives in Eagle, Idaho, bought vodka and Fireball whiskey, provided condoms, and told the teens not to tell their parents about the parties she threw while living in Los Gatos, according to the court documents.

During one of these parties, a girl told investigators that she almost drowned in a hot tub because of drunk she was, court records allege.

At an October 2020 party at a Santa Cruz cottage that she threw for her son’s 15th birthday — attended by a dozen teen boys.

DENVER - A Colorado mother who fatally abused her 7-year-old daughter and lied about her health to get handouts from charities worth at least $100,000 was sentenced to 16 years in prison as part of a plea deal that threw out murder charges.Judge Patricia Herron issued the sentence Wednesday after Kelly Turner pled guilty last month to child abuse resulting in the 2017 death of the girl, Olivia Gant, and to charitable fraud and theft.Previous charges of first-degree murder, attempt to influence a public servant and forgery were dropped as part of an agreement with prosecutors.Turner said nothing during her virtual sentencing hearing but wiped away tears as prosecutors played a video made by Olivia’s grandfather Lonnie Gautreau of Olivia laughing and smiling, baking a cake, dancing in a princess costume, playing doctor with her dolls and singing songs."This truth about Olivia has caused such a deep pain that it continues to ravage me every day," said a statement from Gautreau that was read at the hearing by a prosecutor.

LOS GATOS, Calif. - A mother from Los Gatos accused of throwing drunken parties for teenagers where she encouraged sex acts was arrested at her home in Star, Idaho and found with a dozen underage boys and girls, according to investigators.The Ada County Sheriff’s Office said detectives are concerned Shannon O’Connor, aka Shannon Bruga, may have been holding similar parties since she moved to Idaho. They began investigating her earlier this summer.The sheriff’s office said they served a warrant Saturday afternoon finding 10 underage boys and two girls at her home along Wyatt Earp Drive.
