A sketch from That Mitchell and Webb show has started trending on YouTube more than 10 years after it was made for BBC2 – with an uncanny similarity to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the quiz show routine named Remain Indoors, set in a post-apocalyptic world, the BBC is replaced with "the Emergency Broadcasting System" and the hazarded date is said to be "March or November".
The logo shows a woman wearing a gas mask, writing "help me!" on a chalkboard and David Mitchell and Robert Webb – acting as quiz show hosts – refer repeatedly to a doomsday incident only known as "The Event".
Humanity is told to carry on as normal, but giant bulletins reading "Remain Indoors" pop up constantly during the broadcast and a contestant starts randomly
