The Minister of State with responsibility for International and Road Transport has written to the Minister for Health suggesting that antigen testing be used to establish an air route, on a pilot basis.
Hildegarde Naughton told the Seanad this afternoon that she has written to Stephen Donnelly. Ms Naughton said that the improving epidemiological situation in Ireland and the wider European Union "provides an opportunity to reconsider the potential role of antigen testing to facilitate international transport without an undue negative impact on public health".
However, she cautioned that the Government will be guided by public health advice. Last week, the Oireachtas Committee on Transport heard from members of NPHET, including the Chief
