Millions of secondary pupils face a chaotic start to Covid mass-testing as they return to the classroom for the first time since December.
Government advisor Dr Jenny Harries warned that some students could be forced to go back home to self-isolate while the swabs system ramps up.
Some schools were struggling to get consent from parents to test pupils. Teachers’ leaders criticised “muddled messaging” from the Government on the twice-weekly testing regime, which they said complicated the scheme.
Boris Johnson acknowledged that an increased risk of Covid transmission was “inevitable” in reopening schools. What is your view?
