The Bill providing for the mandatory quarantine of people entering the State from certain areas to prevent the spread of Covid-19 has been signed into law.
President Michael D Higgins signed the Health (Amendment) Bill 2021 this morning. The law means that people coming into Ireland from a current list of 33 countries will have to quarantine for 14 days after their arrival if they do not have a negative Covid-19 test.
The Government has yet to announce what facilities will be used for quarantine purposes and exactly how much each person will be charged, although it is believed to be around €2,000 per adult.
