A couple who couldn't wait to get married forged ahead with their nuptials despite a 5,000-mile distance between them. Andrew Bateman, from the Merseyside town of Maghull, and Mitzi Guzman, from Mexico City, were forced apart by the pandemic and have had to scrap their wedding plans twice.
They'd initially planned to wed in Mexico, before Covid threw a spanner in the works. But they weren't going to let the distance of the Atlantic stop them tying the knot - and decided to get hitched over Zoom.
They appeared on today's Good Morning Britain, explaining to Kate Garraway and Ben Shepherd: "Well, we were meant to get married on July 31 last year. "That got moved with everything that was going on to February 6 this year.
