(Credit: Portland Police) PORTLAND, Ore. - Police in Portland, Oregon, said they have recovered stolen, rare guitars worth thousands of dollars. Officers said they were abating a camp last Thursday near Interstate 405 when they recovered five out of six guitars reported stolen from The Brian Jonestown Massacre band on April 18. "These guitars are reportedly from the 1960’s and have enormous sentimental value and are not easily replaceable, according to members of the band," police said in a news release. "I want to thank you for your service and the excellent detective work in locating most of our guitars.

University of California San Diego are making it possible for people to screen for Alzheimer’s disease, ADHD and other neurological diseases and disorders from the comfort of their own homes.The app uses a near-infrared camera, which is built into newer smartphones for facial recognition, along with a regular selfie camera to track how a person’s pupil changes in size. ABILENE, Texas - A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged after he allegedly stabbed multiple people at a Texas Cinco de Mayo celebration.The Abilene Police Department responded to a call of multiple victims suffering from stab wounds at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church on April 30 just after 9 p.m.Off-duty Taylor County Sheriff's deputies had been working security at the event and had taken the suspect into custody after several people were involved in a struggle to restrain him, according to Abilene police.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A Texas woman shot and killed a man Thursday night who broke into her home, according to police.KSAT reports that the shooting happened at 10 p.m. April 28 in the 600 block of Kashmuir Place, not far from Kellis Avenue and South Side Lions Park on the southeast side of San Antonio.The woman was inside her home with her three children when she heard a man break in, getting in through the laundry room in the back of the house, according to KSAT.

Czar McMichael, 22, is facing murder charges after allegedly killing his grandfather and another man in Logan.  PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man has been arrested and faces murder charges after he fatally shot his grandfather and another man who may be a relative in Logan.  PREVIOUS: Police: 2 bodies found inside home of man, 67, missing from LoganAuthorities say the double murder scene was discovered on the 4600 block of North Broad Street in the city's Logan neighborhood at 4:42 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a person with a gun, authorities say. According to police, the decomposed body of a person was found shot on the third floor of the residence and the body of a 45-year-old man was also found fatally shot in the home. Investigators learned that on April 28, 67-year-old Benjamin McMichael went into the bedroom that belonged to his grandson, 22-year-old Czar McMichael, and complained about the condition, police say. When Benjamin McMichael grabbed his grandson's arm, Czar McMichael spun around and fatally shot him, according to police. Days later, on the afternoon of April 30, a witness and 45-year-old Anthony Ham went to the residence on North Broad Street to check on Benjamin McMichael, who they had not heard from for several days, authorities say. According to police, Ham entered the home through a window and then opened the door for the unnamed witness. While checking the home, Ham confronted Czar McMichael on the third floor and they got into a verbal altercation, police say. Authorities say Czar McMichael then shot Ham multiple times before fleeing the home as the witness called 911. He was stopped and arrested on N.

ATLANTA - Atlanta police said the driver of a pedal pub faces DUI in a Midtown crash that left 15 people injured.The pedal pub crashed on Saturday near the intersection of 14th Street and West Peachtree Street in Midtown. JACKSON, Miss. - One person is dead and several others were injured following a shooting at a festival in Mississippi, according to sheriff officials.Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said on social media that "several" people were taken to local hospitals Saturday night with unknown injuries, and one person was confirmed dead at the scene. NORTH PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting in North Philadelphia that left a 13-year-old boy in critical condition.Officials say police responded to the 2200 block of North Woodstock Street Saturday night, about 7:15, on the report of a shooting.Responding officers found the 13-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his head.Police rushed him to a nearby hospital where he is listed in critical condition.AdvertisementPolice say a firearm was located at the scene, but no arrest have been made.

LOGAN - Philadelphia Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman inside a house in Logan.Officials said police responded to the 4600 block of North Broad Street Saturday in the late afternoon, just after 4:30, on the report of a shooting.When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back and one to the head. The Judds and mother of Wynonna and Ashley Judd, has died. She was 76.The daughters announced her death on Saturday in a statement provided to The Associated Press.“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” the statement said.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Police in Norristown are investigating a fatal double shooting of two, armed 17-year-old males, after an attempted robbery.According to officials, police responded to an alley behind the 300 block of Warren Street Friday, about 8 p.m. for a shooting.When police arrived, they found two males, dead from gunshot wounds and the shooter on scene.As part of the investigation revealed, according to Norristown Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, the two males were both 17-years-old.
